  Let's just get something straight about 1975.

  nobody ever said that the end was coming in 1975.. all the hype about this date that has continued all the way down through today came from a talk in the early 70's by fred franz.

  in this talk, franz pointed out the significance of the 7 creative days and how they correspond with 1,000-year time intervals.. he then said, "could the end come in 1975?

  there's so much wrong with jehovah's witnesses from their rigid legalism to their faux love, but let's call a spade a spade about the 1975 thing..

  I was there and witnessed first hand that the hype was there. We were told that we would not grow up, go to collage and have a family in this system of things. Also there are a number of WT books and magazines that implied the 1975 date.

The rumor of him at one of his concerts asking all JW's to leave. I know a number of JW's to this day that still repeat this rumor as gospel truth. Sounds like another JW story that is full of crap.

  wow you guys really made me think with the response to my faith topic, i was just arguing with a friend today over israel and invading lebabon and he quoted all the bible scriptures to me trying to show me that, israel were the chosen people of god and how god allowed them to go in and slaughter the canninties (first recorded insident of genocide) including killing small children, and i asked is that what christ jesus died for so god could order the slaughter of babies for the jews?

  so you are saying that not only is god a racist, but not a god of love as well?

  if god created all of us from the dust why would he love one race more than another?
